Police Pensioners’ Housing Association

There are a variety of ways you can support

The Police Pensioners’ Housing Association Ltd is a Registered Society under the Cooperative & Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (no 19085R) and is accepted as a charity for tax purposes by HM Revenue and Customs under their reference XN 23781A. The PPHA is regulated by the Financial Conduct Association to whom it makes its annual return.

The PPHA was founded in 1968 to establish sheltered warden assisted accommodation for Police Pensioners and their spouses, their widows or widowers from any police area who are over sixty years of age and are capable of looking after themselves.

The first properties were purchased at The Croft, Yapton in 1992 and the Association now owns most of the properties in this courtyard complex with further available in the nearby village of Middleton-on-Sea. Many of the apartments at Yapton enjoy a view across farmland to the South Downs and all look out onto well tended areas of the communal garden.

What We Do

At present properties offered by PPHA are all in West Sussex, either in Yapton or Middleton-on-Sea. Both villages are approximately four miles from Arundel and centrally located for many of the area’s attractions being a short distance from the coast, open countryside or the larger towns of Chichester and Worthing. The A259 and A27 are readily accessible and public transport is good with frequent bus services, both local and more widespread. The nearest rail station is close by at Barnham with a South Central line and a direct link to London Victoria via Gatwick Airport. There are also several local Taxi firms. Both villages are active communities with good facilities.
